OK the story aspect is really throwing me and I am trying to understand it. This is what I came up with a representation of the greatest story. I put the junction of the cross right at the top left intersection. This did put the horizon slightly more toward center than I like but I think it works out overall. First photo of the 2017 challenge is in the bag.
Oh it was so hard not to touch this up just a bit in LR. Just increase the exposure a tad would make it so much better. But here is it SOOC. No editing at all what so ever. I didn't even sharpen it up at all.
Ugh, the only thing I don't like about this photo is it is in portrait. It was the only way to get the elements I wanted where I wanted them and keep it interesting. We don't get much snow where I am at so this was our yearly treat and I love taking photos of snow. I have shot this creek bed before and this is the first really good shot I have gotten.
I really had no clue how I was going to tell a story with a mirror. The I looked up while driving home from work and had this idea. The road traveled so far in the mirror, and the road ahead in the windshield. I got creative with the cropping and liked the panoramic look for this image.
My wonderful daughter is my model for this shoot. It didn't go quite as planned I was hopeing to use a field instead of a fence but rain. This is my favorite of the bunch 1/320sec at f/2.0 50mm fixed lens at ISO100. I enjoyed getting all the different angels and setting. Here is a link to the other nine shots. After I finished I noticed two angles here very similar but that is how it went.
I drive by this abandoned farm on my way to work. Felt like it was the perfect subject for this challenge. I would have liked to explore the grounds more and look around but I was going to be late to work and it has a dozen no trespassing signs up.
One Shot? One Shot! OK, here it is, one shot. I did work on it in Lightroom to make it more dramatic but the original image turned out really well also. Still taking only one what was a nice challenge that I may have to do again someday.
It has been a while since I intentionally shot a still life. Used natural light from a window to light my subject. The flowers won't last much longer and fading fast so I also faded the color and got a more vintage look and went with an angle that you don't usually see in still life, I think.
Ugh, trying forced perspective. Never have been good at getting both subjects in focus. This is much harder than it looks. My son had fun battling General Grievous to defend the backyard. Not really happy this the image and the final came out kind of fun. Need to work on this more.
I am shooting the 2017 and 2018 challenges at the same time. I got some good images for 2018 and didn't like what I shot for this challenge so I took my other favorite negative space photo and tried split tone and it and liked it even more.
